Auto-assign by default

Preview

The VLAN ID input should default to auto-assign mode, which allows the system to automatically select a VLAN ID from the available range. This removes the need for the user to manually input a VLAN ID, simplifying the process.

Manual VLAN ID selection

Labels

Dot1q

For products that support 802.1Q VLAN tagging, use "Inner VLAN ID" for the input label.

  • Only use the Inner qualifier on the input label.
  • For Layer 2, add a Source or Destination qualifier to the label, e.g.
    • "Source inner VLAN ID"
    • "Destination inner VLAN ID".

Q-in-Q

For products that support Q-in-Q VLAN tagging, use

  • "Outer VLAN ID" for the S-Tag input label
  • "Inner VLAN ID" for the C-Tag input label
